Resident Evil 5 Excitement

Resident Evil 5 is one of my most anticipated games not only of this generation but of all time. I love the Resident Evil series of games which has evolved into a franchise over the years to now include books, movies, comics and merchandise. Resident Evil 5 is expected to be released on Friday the 13th of March 2008 just 5 days after my 24th birthday (how cool is that?).

What is known of the story so far

Resident Evil 5 takes part 10 years after the original Resident Evil on the Playstation and the happenings of the first outbreak in Racoon City. Chris Redfield is in an unnamed West African country and is allied with the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance while investigating how recent volcanic activity may have released a dormant virus upon natives of the region. Is it just a natural occurance? Is the infamous umbrella Corp. responsible or involved in some way? WHat of the other characters form the first game and all that has happenned up to now? Thats the premise of RE5.

Resident Evil 5 at E3 2008

Capcom didn’t disappoint at E3 2008. Resident Evil 5 was first announced over 3 years ago and only teaser trailers and short developer interviews at major video game expos and events have followed since. At e3 this year there were many more trailers but also a playable demo of the game for everyone (who had the right connections or had the patience to wait in line) to enjoy and Online co-op was confirmed for the first time.

The graphics in Resident Evil 5 are awesome

Now all thats left is for me to do is endure the 8 months before RE5 is released and ensure I grab a next gen console and a HDTV as planned later this year. I’m glad I will not have much trouble when decided which console to buy RE5 for because it will be available for both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
