Elemental: War of Magic Announced

Posted by infidel under General, PC - No Comments

Stardock has announced their latest computer game that is in the works. Elemental: War of Magic as the name suggests will be a fantasy themed game and for that alone I am getting very excited. I’ll be following the progress of this game as it’s not expected to be released until 2010. I have enjoyed many of Stardock’s DRM free releases such as Galactic Civilizations II and most recently Sins of a Solar Empire (which I need to start playing again).

Operation New Computer - Graphics Card Bought

Posted by infidel under General, PC - No Comments

Operation new computer is running awfully behind schedule and the hope now is just to complete my new PC as a Christmas gift for myself. I picked the graphics card this week a EVGA Nvidia Geforce 9800 GT to go along with the other parts I’ve bought so far, next on the list is a LCD monitor.

Atlantica Online Officially Launches

Posted by infidel under General, PC - No Comments

Over the last few weeks I have been playing Atlantica Online open beta. A few days ago the game fully launched to everyone but unfortunately I’ve seen my time for playing Atlantica get less and less although I am not losing interest. I’d recoment that MMO fans download and give Atlantica Online a spin and even if you are not a fan of MMOs but would like to try out a new game you can play at your own pace especially with friends.

Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO officially unveiled

Posted by infidel under General, PC - No Comments

After months of speculation it was officially announced today that a new Star Wars massively multiplayer online game was coming. The new games titled Star Wars: The Old Republic is based in the Knights of the Old Republic timeline when the war between the Old Republic and the Sith Empire divides the galaxy.

It seems to be MMO season is the video game industry many MMOs being released in recent months, Conan online and Warhammer online being the two most popular so far. An update to the ultra popular Warcraft is expected soon and many other MMO titles are on the way such as Star trek online (which I am looking forward to). I’m looking forward to the new gameplay and story telling elements Star Wars: The Old Republic will add to the now saturated genre and will be blogging about the game’s progress. Continue Reading »

Posted by infidel under Gaming News, General, PC, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 - No Comments

Dead Space is now out for the Playstation 3 and the Xbox 360 and will also be released for the PC in less than a week. From watching the latest trailers and following the avalanche of promotion surrounding this well publicized game I must say I am impressed.

I’m really looking forward to playing this game in a couple days as it’s definitely in the running for game of the year from the few reviews i have read so far. Continue Reading »

Atlantica Online Beta Testing

Posted by infidel under General, PC - No Comments

Atlantica Online is a game i ran into by random while browsing around the internet. My timing was perfect because the game just went into open beta. The game is a MMO that uses a turn bases battle and is set in an alternate history Earth, with the game map consisting of large parts of the northern hemisphere from Asia to Europe and everything in between. The setting is fantasy-themed with elements of steampunk. I already have about 5 hours time under m belt, I’ve created my character and chose to start out in Japan (^_^).

Will post an update on this game later, right now I am just trying to understand how everything works as i don’t have a lot of MMORPG experience -_-. My in game name is “Taino” and I am on the Mycenae server. Continue Reading »

Spore is a dissapointment, find out why

Posted by infidel under General, PC, Rants - No Comments

Spore has been coming for a long time now and I posted about it’s release window back in May and eagerly anticipated it’s release. Now it’s here and I’ve played it for a day and it is crap for so many reasons not just the ridiculously restrictive digital rights management (DRM) software it comes packaged with. to put my feelings about Spore into one word I’d say that Spore is “underwhelming”, Will promised us so much but instead gave us so little but I can’t help but think that most of the blame lies with EA.

Spore is taking a beating from angry customers who are voicing their opinion on why the hate Spore so much (mostly because of the DRM). Amazon.com reported a “glitch” that only affected the negative reviews of Spore on their site that added even more controversy to the pot, was it truely a glitch or an attempt by one of the world’s largest online retailers to silence customers?

The Gamers Bill of Rights - Stardock

Posted by infidel under General, PC - No Comments

I’ve been playing a couple new games recently and while preparing a blog post for Stardock’s new game Sins of the Solar Empire I surfed over to their site to see a new post entitled Stardock Announces “The Gamers Bill of Rights.” After reading it through (and also the varied comments) I must say I agree with every point. I have enjoyed many of Stardock’s games especially the Galactic Civilizations II and it’s expansions. When I think about it Gal Civ II is one of only a handful of games I have purchased and not downloaded via torrents in recent memory and the reason why I bought their games had a whole lot to do with being treated well, no hassle with DRM and an excellent game.

Enjoying the Continuum Browser game

Posted by infidel under General, PC - No Comments

I blogged about beta testing a browser based game named The Continuum a few months back. The game out of beta and now officially launched and has gone through a lot of updates and tweaks since then. I have become somewhat of a Continuum addict but it the game simple to pick up (but not necessarily play) and I can play anywhere from any computer with an internet connection and the latest version of flash. Counting my hours at work combined with time at home I spend about half of everyday in front a computer screen so this game is the perfect tool to clear my head during a break.
